Democratic schools

When schools are run from the top down, students learn to dislike authority and think passively about themselves in their school community. When students run the show, schools are more creative, promote student happiness, and teach all of the benefits of community engagement.

    Bingo. I always felt stifled at school… as if I was being held back, rather than learning new skills. School made me feel small and trapped. Voiceless.
